Jo-Kell's
CEO, Suzy Kelly, received the Julian F. Hirst Award at the
19th Annual Leadership Breakfast, Thursday, June 28th. The
event was held at the Renaissance Hotel in Portsmouth. The
award is named after Julian F. Hirst whose experience and
dedication as a Virginia public administrator extended beyond
Hampton Roads. This honor, presented by Lead Hampton Roads,
a program of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, is awarded
to individuals for their distinguished service to their community. |

On
June 27th, 2007, CEO Suzy Kelly gave a Presentation on “Disaster
Preparation for the Workforce” at the Chesapeake Conference
Center. She spoke about the importance of preparing for Natural
Disasters as well as a Pandemic Flu. Suzy reiterated the importance
of business owners being a model for their employees so that
they might start their own Disaster Plan Agenda. |

In
2002, Jo-Kell Inc. was named the Chesapeake Small Business
of the Year by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. Businesses
were evaluated on performance, innovation, quality, and
leadership.
Doing
business the old-fashioned way has made Jo-Kell Inc., a
local success story, with the numbers to back it up - a
20 percent increase in sales each year. This achievement
was a major contributing factor in being named as Chesapeake's
