Chesapeake Jubilee
Jo-Kell once again had the honor of serving
up hotdogs and hamburgers for our cities finest who worked
the Jubilee! The police, sheriff and fire departments
were able to come by and grab a quick dog and burger on
their breaks.

St.
Matthews Carnival Cake Judging
St.
Matthews School held it's 23rd Annual Carnival on May 2nd.
Jo-Kell CEO, Suzy Kelly along with fellow judges were asked
to pick the winning cake among several hundred entries.
This
year’s theme was magic. Judges were tasked with the
challenge of selecting the most creative and original cakes.

Ukrop's Monument Ave 10K
Jo-Kell's Richmond branch participated
in this year's 10K, 6.2 mile run or walk which benefited
the Massey Cancer Center. Although it was overcast and rainy,
team Jo-Kell, which consisted of employee's and their families
had a great time!

Chesapeake Police Dept.
5th Precinct
Jo-Kell's Inside Sales Department created
a Committee to Support the Chesapeake Police Department
5th Precinct for all their hard work and service. For Valentine's
Day, the committee donated a basket of goodies to show our
thankfulness and support for the wonderful police officers
who go beyond the call of duty to protect us every day!

Special
Olympics Virginia - Polar Plunge
Employees
of Jo-Kell Inc., an electrical distribution and engineering
Company, raised over $3,000 dollars for Special Olympics
of Virginia in the 16th Annual Polar Plunge on February
3, 2008 at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.

Christmas Tree Contest
Jo-Kell holds an annual Christmas
Tree contest. Each department is given a tree and $50. This
year was the most outstanding display we have had yet! Donations
raised benefited our Troops, The Ronald McDonald House Charities,
Go Green, Make A Wish Foundation and Save the Bay Foundation.

2006
St. Mary's Drive
Jo-Kell's annual Holiday
drive collected over $3,000 for St.
Mary's Home for Disabled Children. With the company
matching employee donations, we were able to present St.
Mary's with a check for $6,000 this year!
St. Mary’s is the
only pediatric long-term care residential facility of its
kind in Virginia for children with severe disabilities.
They offer a comprehensive range of residential, medical,
therapeutic, educational and recreational services for children
from birth to age 21.

2006
Food Drive
Our
annual fall Food Drive raised 3,275 lbs. of food, the most
ever. Our Chesapeake office raised 2,686 lbs. benefiting
the Foodbank
of Southeastern Virginia. Our Jacksonville office raised
589 lbs. benefiting America's
Second Harvest. A great time was had by all, but most
importantly, we were able to feed over 1,500 families!

McGruff
Kids Night Out
On October 26, 2006 The Chesapeake Crime
Prevention Council hosted its annual Kids night with McGruff
at the Grassfield Ruritan club. The kids enjoyed a great
time with McGruff the Crime Dog. The party is a fun way
for children to enjoy Halloween, and it gives the council
a chance to pass along information and safety tips to
families. Jo-Kell provided the hot dogs, buns, grill and
some great volunteers to cook and help out at the event.

Children's
Organ Transplant Association
The
Children's Organ Transplant Association provides fundraising
assistance for children and young adults needing life-saving
transplants and promotes organ, marrow and tissue donation.
Jo-Kell contributed 144 clocks to be used for the golfer's
gift bags in the May 17, 2005 COTA for Jason C. Charity
Golf Tournament raising money for Jason's life-saving
double-lung transplant. |

Special
Olympics Virginia - Polar Plunge
Jo-Kell
had 6 participants in the XIII Annual Polar Plunge Winter
Festival on February 5, 2005 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
Jo-Kell has particpated in this event for the past
four years now and has raised close to $4,000 benefiting
the the Special Olympics.

Dwelling Place
The
mission of The Dwelling Place is to provide safe and secure
emergency shelter for homeless families and assist them
in achieving self-sufficiency. Since starting our
program in November 2003, the employees at Jo-Kell have

Foodbank
of Southeastern Virginia
The
Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia provides solutions to
hunger and certain consequences of poverty in this community.
Jo-Kell held themed food drives in October 2004 and March
2005 raising over a thousand food donations!

Operation
Sandbox
Operation
Sandbox is composed of a group of individuals from all across
the U.S. who are dedicated to the support and welfare of
soldiers deployed overseas. The goal is to make sure any
soldier who standing in line at mail call, will hear his
name called. People send cards, postcards and packages to
show support of these men and women who are dedicating their
lives for our freedom. For Christmas 2004, each department
was given a Christmas Tree to decorate with their choice
of theme. The Sales Support Department adopted a soldier.
They send one letter each week and one care package each
month filled with food, toiletries, books, games, linens
or anything specific the soldier requests. |

Toys
For Tots
The
U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects
new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December
each year and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts
to needy children in the community in which the campaign
is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver,
through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope
to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into
responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community
leaders. For Christmas 2004, each department was given a
Christmas Tree to decorate with their choice of theme. The
Accounting Department chose Toys for Tots and raised over
60 toys for the children of Hampton Roads. |

Cancer Society |
American
Cancer Society
The
American Cancer Society, Inc. (ACS) is a non-profit organization
dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem
by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering
from cancer, through research, education, patient service,
advocacy, and rehabilitation.
In
2004 Jo-Kell donated $1,000 toward the William E. Ward Room
at the Thomas R. Lee Volunteer Center. The new volunteer
center will offer South Hampton Roads an important venue
for the thousands of community volunteers to meet and work,
as well as, adequate accommodations for the regional staffing
team. In addition, the center will provide a bright and
up-lifting environment for cancer patients and their support
system. |

St.
Mary's Home for Disabled Children
St.
Mary's Home for Disabled Children is a residential care
facility, the only one of its kind in the state of Virginia.
Over 200 employees deliver medical care and individual attention
to 88 of Virginia's most medically fragile, severely disabled
children, aged newborn to 18 years. During the month of
March 2005, the Jo-Kell employees contributed $640.00 and
Jo-Kell matched the amount. On April 21, 2005, Suzy Kelly
presented a check for $1,280.00 to St. Mary's Home for Disabled
Children. |

Chesapeake
Animal Control
The
Chesapeake Animal Control supports responsible pet ownership,
humane treatment of animals, equipping pets with identification
at all times, compliance with statutes and ordinances for
the control and protection of animals, spaying and neutering,
and control of pet overpopulation. Jo-Kell employees contributed
money for the shelter to purchase a video monitor and an
outdoor bench. Both items were very much needed by the shelter.

Chesapeake
Crime Prevention Council
The
Chesapeake Crime Prevention Council (CCPC) is a non-profit
organization located in Chesapeake, Virginia. Working hand-in-hand
with the Chesapeake Police Department and the Chesapeake
Sheriff's Office to educate and inform the citizens of Chesapeake
about crime, crime prevention and Neighborhood Watch/Block
Security Program. Jo-Kell is very active with the CCPC.
Some of our contributions have included providing paper
products, tray stands and liquid fuel for their annual banquet,
cooking and taking care of the volunteers for fundraisers,
volunteering at their Annual Picnic “Kids Night Out”
and of course, monetary donations.
In
2004 Jo-Kell received the Top Cop Award for An Outstanding
Corporation from the Greater Hampton Roads Crime Lines.
Top Cop Awards are given annually to a citizen, a corporation
and an organization that have made an extraordinary contribution
to the safety of Hampton Roads. Read

2002 Jo-Kell received the “Distinguished Service Award,
Business” in recognition for outstanding efforts to
prevent crime and to make the community safer and better.

Southside
Boys And Girls Club
The
Club provides a safe haven for our children as well as programs
and services that empower and encourage them to stretch
towards higher goals. A well-qualified staff provides
love, care and guidance to show youth how they can realize
their dreams and become successful adults. Jo-Kell
donated a raffle prize to the 2003 golf tournament fundraiser. |

The
Salvation Army
The
Salvation Army offers a wide variety of services Worldwide
including Addiction Dependancy, Health Services, Social
Work, Emergency Response and Family Tracing. Jo-Kell employees
raised $120.00 in donations in 2002. |

Union
Mission Ministries
The
Union Mission Ministries was founded in 1892 and currently
has nine different ministries in Norfolk and Virginia Beach
area. The Mission serves to aid the poor and needy, feed
the hungry, shelter the homeless and much more. During
the holidays, the Mission organizes a“Food for the
Needy Campaign”. Jo-Kell donated 19 turkeys to the
2001 campaign. |

The
YWCA is the oldest and largest multicultural women's organization
in the world. Their mission is to eliminate racism
and empower women. The YWCA provides safe places for
women and girls, builds strong women leaders, and advocates
for women's rights and civil rights in Congress. In
2001, Jo-Kell held a food and clothing drive to benefit
the YWCA organization. |
