Oustanding Entrepreneur Award Presented to CEO of Local Company

Chesapeake, VA (January 21, 2009) – Suzy Kelly, CEO of Jo-Kell Inc., a local electrical distributor and engineering company received Old Dominion University’s Outstanding Entrepreneur Award. The award was presented Sunday, November 8th as part of the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the School of Dental Hygiene.

“I am honored to receive this award,” said Kelly. “Transitioning from a career in dental hygiene into the business world, could not have been possible without the well-rounded education I received at Old Dominion’s school of Dental Hygiene”, she added.

The esteem award recognizes women because of their achievements as well as the important role that they play in their local business communities. Award recipients who are chosen may work for a large organization or own and operate their own businesses. Nominees for this award act as an inspiration to the community and are a credit to their business or profession.

This year, the School of Dental Hygiene celebrated 40 years of graduating hundreds of dental hygienists from its prestigious program – more than 1,200 to date.
