Jo-Kell Donates Shore Power Unit to Help Restore Historic Vessel

Chesapeake, VA (June 30, 2009) – Jo-Kell Inc., an electrical distribution and engineering company, has donated a shore power interface unit to the Zuni Maritime Foundation for the restoration of the U.S.S. Zuni ATF-95.

The Zuni Maritime Foundation has acquired the decommissioned World War II salvage tug which towed warships all over the South Pacific during that war.  After the war she was decommissioned and transferred to the Coast Guard until final decommissioning in 1994.

Jo-Kell designed and assembled the shore power unit that will enable the Zuni to run on full power while pier side without having to use a generator.  This will save diesel fuel as well help the environment by limiting pollution.

"Jo-Kell is excited to be a part of the restoration of this great vessel," said Suzy Kelly, CEO of Jo-Kell Inc.  "It feels great knowing that our contribution will help the Zuni educate future generations on our maritime heritage," Kelly added.
