Employees
of Jo-Kell Inc., an electrical distribution and engineering
Company, raised over $3,000 dollars for Special Olympics
of Virginia in the 16th Annual Polar Plunge on February
3, 2008 at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
This
year’s team, the Jo-Kell “Frost Stars,”
consisted of thirteen employees along with their family
members. Employees were able to count on their friends
and family as well as non-plunging co-workers to help
raise funds for the annual plunge into the frigid waters
of the Atlantic Ocean.
With
the company matching the donations of the 13 team members,
Jo-Kell donated $3,120 to the special cause. Money raised
for the annual event goes to the Special Olympics in their
community.
“Our employees form an incredible group of generous
people,” said Jo-Kell’s CEO, Suzy Kelly. “They
are always ready to jump in and support a great cause!”
The
Special Olympics Virginia Polar Plunge began in 1993 at
the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. 3,522 plungers raised more
than $850,000 in this year’s plunge.
