Jo-Kell Volunteers Serve First Responders at the 2025 Chesapeake Jubilee

At Jo-Kell, giving back to the community is a core part of who we are. This past weekend, our dedicated employees took that commitment to heart by volunteering at the 2025 Chesapeake Jubilee, held from May 16–18 at Chesapeake City Park.

The Chesapeake Jubilee, a cherished annual tradition since 1983, draws over 35,000 attendees each year. The event features a vibrant mix of amusement rides, live entertainment, arts and crafts, and the renowned Zambelli Fireworks display. With grills fired up and smiles all around, our team prepared and served hundreds of hamburgers and hot dogs as a small token of gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of our firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and other emergency personnel working the event.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with the people who work tirelessly to keep our community safe,” said Kristin Parkinson, Jo-Kell's Chief Operating Officer, who helped organize the volunteer effort. “We’re incredibly proud to support our first responders and let them know how much they’re appreciated.”

Jo-Kell’s involvement in the Chesapeake Jubilee highlights our ongoing commitment to community service, team spirit, and making a difference where it matters most. A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time, and to the first responders who give so much more every day.
